Mac OS X

Mac OS X arrived in style in the early months of 2001. Mac OS X (pronounced “Mac OS Ten”, by the way) is Apple's phenomenonally advanced operating system for the future of Macintosh.

Mac OS X has its foundations in a meld of the popular Macintosh Operating System (whose lineage goes back to the early 1980s) and the very much ahead-of-its-time NextStep operating system developed by Next Computers in the late 1980s.

Mac OS X brings us advanced software development technology and imaging models, making it the premier choice for software developers and graphic designers alike.

In Mac OS X, you now have the power and stability of the UNIX operating system, the ease of use of the Macintosh and NextStep user interfaces, powerful object-oriented programming capabilities using both Objective-C and Java, and a graphics imaging model based on Adobe Systems Portable Document Format (PDF).

Trilithon Software started developing software for NextStep in 1990, and continues this long development history into the new and advanced Mac OS X.
